Welcome to Mindworks – The place for Massage Therapy News!
Welcome to Mindworks — the place to nourish your mind with massage therapy news and information.
Massage therapy is a centuries-old wellness practice. According to WebMD, there are over 80 massage therapy styles to choose from today. These styles involve pressing, rubbing, or manipulating muscles and other soft tissues with hands, fingers — and sometimes, forearms, elbows, or feet — to administer a variety of healing pressures, movements, and techniques.
We specialize in a carefully chosen subset of massage styles that are proven to provide relief from symptoms, promote healing from injuries, help with certain health conditions, and promote overall wellness.
These include:
Foot massage or Reflexology:
Foot massage or Reflexology is the practice of massaging and applying pressure to parts of the feet, or sometimes hands and ears with the goal of encouraging beneficial effect on parts of body, or to improve general health.
Thai Massage:
Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage.
Swedish (oil) Massage:
Swedish (oil) massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee over a period of eight weeks. It has also been shown to be helpful in individuals with poor circulation.
Combination Massage:
Combination massage combines Thai and Swedish massage. This treatment is considered to be one of the best massages. We recommend it for many of our clients.
Deep Tissue Massage:
Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down adhesion to relieve pain and restore normal movement. The massage therapist uses massage oil and direct deep pressure. Muscles must be relaxed in order for the therapist to reach the deeper musculature. There is usually some stiffness or pain after a deep tissue massage, but it should subside within a day or so.
Body scrub:
Body scrub consist of 20 minutes oil massage & 40 minutes full body dry brush scrub.
In the coming weeks Mindworks will explore the benefits of each of these and other massage techniques, as well as massage therapy and wellness topics in general. So, please stop by .. or visit us to experience the Wellness Face and Bodyworks difference!
